Two-part professional development program to take place June 7-11 in Las Vegas, Sept. 20-22 in St. Louis
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Andrew Brown, Marshall's Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Capital Projects and Championship Facilities, has been selected by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) to participate in the 2026 NACDA Senior Administrators Mentoring Institute.
Brown was one of only 100 senior level administrators annually to receive a grant through 'NACDA U' to participate in the institute, which incorporates a two-part programming model aimed at enhancing professional development for members.
"I am absolutely ecstatic that Andrew is a recipient of this professional development grant from NACDA," said Gerald Harrison, Marshall's Vice President and Director of Athletics. "During my time at Marshall, he has proven himself to be not only a valued colleague, but also an outstanding administrator. In the Herd Mentality, 'H' stands for honoring the journey by committing to personal growth and the pursuit of our fullest potential. Andrew exemplifies this commitment and is truly deserving of this opportunity to continue growing as an administrator on the national stage."
The programming will begin with the NACDA & Affiliates Convention in Las Vegas, which runs from June 7-10. Mentoring Institute programming will begin on location on the final day of the convention and run through June 11. The group will also re-convene in St. Louis for the final part of the programming from Sept. 20-22 in St. Louis, Mo.
The purpose of the programming is to bring the nation's top athletics directors and senior level administrators together to share ideas and best practices that will carry intercollegiate athletics forward in a new age and landscape.
Brown was named Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Capital Projects and Championship Facilities by Harrison in August 2025, continuing his ascent as an administrator and leader within Marshall Athletics.
Prior to that elevation, Brown served as Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Game Operations for five years.
His journey with Marshall Athletics started in 2009 when he was a graduate assistant for Facilities and Game Operations while earning his Master's degree at Marshall. He was later named Director of Facilities and Game Operations before ascending to Assistant Athletic Director in 2020.
Brown's grant came through 'NACDA U', which was created in 2022 as a means to elevate and enhance member athletics directors and senior level administrators through the changing world of collegiate athletics.
NACDA U's centralized purpose is to provide educational opportunities and serve as a networking vehicle for information and advocacy for the profession while also providing insight into the new era of intercollegiate athletics.
