HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Women's Basketball had no second half letup in its 95-54 victory over Louisiana Saturday afternoon at the Cam Henderson Center. The Herd held the Ragin' Cajuns without a field goal in the 3rd quarter en route to its largest conference win of the season, improving to 18-6 overall and 9-3 in SBC play.
"I was really happy with our response," Head Coach Juli Fulks said. "Obviously, the Troy game was a heartbreaker and so how you respond the next day really matters."
"Today, we came out of halftime and we talked about how 'okay this is another game where we have a good lead and how are we going to respond in these first five minutes?' and we had a great 3rd quarter. I thought [Louisiana] did a great job in the 4th, they hit a lot of tough shots that we want people to take. But overall, I thought it was a really good effort."
Senior Timaya Lewis-Eutsey led the way with 24 points for the Herd. She averaged 28.5 points, 7.5 assists, 6 rebounds and 4 steals per game in the Herd's two contests this week.
Meredith Maier, Kassie Ingram, and Peyton Ilderton finished in double figures as well, scoring 17, 15, and 12 respectively. The trio combined for 12 of Marshall's 15 3-pointers. A pair of Ilderton triples aided the Herd in its 14-4 run to end the opening half.

The 22-2 advantage for the Herd in the 3rd was the second time Coach Juli Fulks's side has held a team without a field goal in a quarter this season.
As an additional game note, Saturday was Marshall's Play4Kay game. The Herd wore pink uniforms in support of the Kay Yow Foundation and the fight against breast cancer.
"I can think of so many special and really important people in my life that have been affected. Any time that we can do our part and continue to try as a collective community to raise money for breast cancer it really matters, women's health is really important to us."
