Kochan, Borders, Hudson all lead Herd in separate rounds in Tucson
TUCSON, Ariz. – Marshall Women's Golf wrapped up play at the Thunderbird Intercollegiate at Tucson Country Club on Tuesday.
The Thundering Herd faced off against some of the best competition in the country with seven nationally-ranked teams, including No. 1 Stanford who ran away from the competition to take the team title.
The Herd had three different golfers lead the team in each round of action.
Olivia Kochan fired a team-best 77 in the opening round of the tournament at the lengthy 6,700-yard course. Madison Borders also led the way in the second round while Maddi Hudson's play paced the team on the final day.
Borders had one of the Herd's top highlights in the tournament when she recorded an eagle on the par-5 10th hole in the final round of action.
Savannah Hawkins led the team in birdies for the week.
Marshall Women's Golf will return to Tucson, Arizona for its next tournament – the MountainView Collegiate from March 20-22. That tournament is hosted by Kansas State.
