Herd looking to stay tied atop SBC standings in final road game

CONWAY, S.C. – Fresh off a thrilling victory over App State that put the Herd atop the SBC standings, Marshall Men's Basketball looks to take down Coastal Carolina at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the HTC Center in Conway, S.C.
Marshall is currently 18-10 overall and 10-5 in the Sun Belt Conference, which ties the Herd with Troy for first place in the SBC with three games remaining.

PRE-GAME NOTES
- Marshall is coming off a thrilling 94-93 win over then-SBC leader App State on Thursday that pushed the Herd into a tie for first place. With a win, Marshall would maintain its stance atop the SBC standings and go a long way toward earning a top-4 seed for the 2026 SBC Tournament.
- Marshall true freshman Landen Joseph took the game over in the second half, netting 18 of his career-high 24 points in the final 20 minutes as the Herd overcame a 16-point deficit. Joseph's fadeaway jumper with 12 seconds left gave the Herd the victory.
- Andrew Fuquay also netted a career-high in his biggest performance in a Marshall uniform. Fuquay finished with 15 points while going a perfect 6-of-6 from the field.
- Jalen Speer continued to be a menace to the opposition, scoring 24 points in the contest and hitting several 3-pointers during the win. Speer continues to pace the Sun Belt Conference at 5.8 assists per game.
ABOUT THE CHANTICLEERS
- Coastal Carolina comes into the game at 16-12 overall and 8-7 in the Sun Belt Conference. The Chanticleers are coming off a 67-65 loss to James Madison on Wednesday night.
- The Chanticleers had been one of the SBC's hottest teams coming into this week, having won eight of 10 games prior to the JMU loss.
- Joshua Beadle leads Coastal Carolina at 17.5 points per game. Beadle has been a key part of the Chanticleers' success over the last 11 games, increasing his average to 21.8 ppg in that span.
- The Chanticleers have been kings of the close game this season with 15 decided by five points or less, including 11 of their last 12 games. Coastal has won nine of those contests.
