Buterbaugh and Dawkins Score Top-6 Finishes on Opening Day of SBC Championships

MOBILE, Ala. - In her Sun Belt Conference Championship debut, Marshall freshman Karlee Buterbaugh finished 5th in the Women's Javelin Throw with a season-best mark of 45.75m.
Buterbaugh's mark is the 3rd-best all-time in the event in program history and scores the first four points for the Herd women at the championships.
Junior Brady Dawkins led the men's side in the 10K, racing a personal-best time of 30:53.64, taking nearly 30 seconds off his previous best mark in the event. His 6th place finish earns three points for the Marshall men.
In other Top-10 results, fellow freshman Jenna Olsen finished 9th and Halie Wynter finished 10th in the Women's Hammer Throw. Clay Kelly also finished as a top-10 finisher in the 10K alongside Dawkins.
