Buterbaugh and Dawkins Score Top-6 Finishes on Opening Day of SBC Championships

MOBILE, Ala. - In her Sun Belt Conference Championship debut, Marshall freshman Karlee Buterbaugh finished 5th in the Women's Javelin Throw with a season-best mark of 45.75m.Â
Buterbaugh's mark is the 3rd-best all-time in the event in program history and scores the first four points for the Herd women at the championships. Â
Junior Brady Dawkins led the men's side in the 10K, racing a personal-best time of 30:53.64, taking nearly 30 seconds off his previous best mark in the event. His 6th place finish earns three points for the Marshall men.
In other Top-10 results, fellow freshman Jenna Olsen finished 9th and Halie Wynter finished 10th in the Women's Hammer Throw. Clay Kelly also finished as a top-10 finisher in the 10K alongside Dawkins.Â
