Herd’s New STUNT coach to lead Coach Development on international level

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall STUNT coach Evynn Richard is taking the Thundering Herd with her internationally this month as she continues to build the sport of STUNT on a global level.

Richard is headed to Europe from Aug. 18 to 25 to serve as the leader of the Coach Development Program for Cheersport Netherlands – the national federation for cheerleading and performance cheer in the Netherlands.

"It's such an honor to share my love and knowledge of cheerleading and STUNT across oceans while representing the Herd," Richard said. "Cheerleading has shaped the person I am today, and I'm incredibly excited to help create a new standard and culture for the Dutch cheerleading community.

During her time as the Coach Development Program leader for Cheersport Netherlands, Richard will also visit club programs across the Netherlands to provide hands-on training and mentorship for cheer coaches.

As part of her visit, Richard will also host a conference at the end of the week that is focused on expanding coaching knowledge, sharing best practices and supporting professional development within cheer

One of the key aspects of her trip to Netherlands is to lead national coach tryouts to identify and develop members of the coaching development team, who will continue to provide training and support following club visits to ensure that the sport continues to grow into the future.

In addition to helping to grow the game on a global level, Richard's venture as an ambassador for the sport of STUNT also brings further visibility to Marshall's STUNT program as they continue to build for their future and their first competitive season.

STUNT becomes the 94th NCAA championship sport in the 2026-27 year and will celebrate its first NCAA Championship in Spring 2027 while Marshall's first season of competition will take place in Spring 2028 during the 2027-28 athletics year.
