HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Volleyball Team (5-1) travels to Durham, North Carolina, for matches against Duke and Belmont this weekend.

PRE-MATCH NOTES
  • The Herd went a perfect 3-0 last weekend at the Hampton Inn Invitational in Indianapolis with wins over Akron, IU Indy and Belmont.
  • Beatrice Ciccarelli was named co-MVP of the tournament registering 38 kills, a .418 hitting percentage and 17 blocks.
  • Marshall ranks fourth in the country in kills per set at 14.67, 10th in hitting percentage at .310 and 10th in assists per set at 13.38, with all numbers leading the Sun Belt.
 
SCOUTING DUKE
  • The Blue Devils enter the weekend with a 5-1 record after a victory over Charleston Southern on Tuesday.
  • Duke ranks fifth nationally with 2.70 service aces per set and eighth with 13.60 assists per set.
 
SCOUTING BELMONT
  • The Bruins are 2-4 coming into their contest against the Herd after going 1-2 with a win over Middle Tennessee at the Belmont Invitational last weekend.
  • Belmont has registered 382 kills in its first six matches, the seventh most in the country.
