Lindsey Kerns joined the women[apos]s soccer staff as a volunteer assistant in August 2014.

Kerns returned to Marshall after a successful playing career with the Thundering Herd under coach Kevin Long from 2009-12. She won multiple honors as goalkeeper, including being named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 11, 2010) and was a member of the Best Western Huntington Mall Invitational All-Tournament team (Sept. 5, 2010).

As of the 2014 season, Kerns[apos] goals-against averages of 0.78 and 0.80 during 2010 and 2011 rank Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, all-time in the Herd record book. Her 84 saves in 2012 and 164 career saves rank fourth at Marshall. Her 3,011 career minutes in goal rank third for the Herd, and her 1,753 minutes in 2012 rank second in a single season.

During each of her four years with the Herd, she earned a place on the C-USA Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll. She earned a bachelor[apos]s degree in business administration (accounting) from Marshall in 2013, and is currently pursuing her master[apos]s in business administration while working as a graduate assistant for the assistant director of the MU Graduate School of Management. She is working to pass her CPA exam and will begin working for the Dixon Hughes Goodman accounting firm in January 2015.

Kerns also works with the West Virginia Soccer Club as a goalkeeper coach for girls ages 9-13.
