Marketing and Fan Engagement  

Description: The Marketing & Fan Engagement Internship Program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in collegiate athletics while developing future leaders in sports marketing, fan engagement, event operations, creative activation, and game presentation. Marshall University Athletics Marketing Interns support the Marketing & Fan Engagement team in planning and executing game production, promotions, and fan experience initiatives across all home athletic events. Interns gain hands-on experience working a wide range of Marshall Athletics competitions, along with on-campus and community-based fan engagement activations.

Strategic Communications

Description: Marshall University Athletics Strategic Communications Interns gain hands-on experience in the full scope of athletic communications through a combination of in-office hours and game day responsibilities. Interns work directly with the Strategic Communications staff on daily tasks such as social media content, website updates, press releases, game notes, statistics, media relations, research, and more. Students will have the opportunity to support multiple Marshall sports in the office and work game days across a wide range of Thundering Herd athletic events.

Ticketing

Description: Marshall University Athletics Ticketing Interns gain hands-on experience in the daily operations of a Division I ticket office through office hours, outreach, and game day work. Interns assist the Ticketing & Revenue Generation staff with calling patrons, selling tickets, processing season ticket renewals, handling seat changes, and supporting outreach efforts. Additional duties include mail fulfillment, assisting staff, working the ticket booth and will-call windows, supporting fan assistance areas, and contributing to market research across Marshall Athletics events.

HerdVision

Description: Marshall University Athletics Live Video Production Interns support the HerdVision production team in operating cameras and assisting with control room functions during live athletic events. Interns gain hands-on experience using industry-standard HD broadcast technology while helping produce in-venue video board shows and multi-camera live streams for official Marshall Athletics platforms. Students will work a variety of Thundering Herd events and contribute to the overall quality, presentation, and fan experience of Marshall’s live productions.

Creative ( Video, Photography, and Graphic Design)

Description: Marshall University Athletics Creative Services Interns gain hands-on experience across graphic design, photography, and creative video as part of the department’s content team. Interns assist with producing high-quality graphics for game days, milestones, awards, and marketing initiatives; shooting and editing photos on the sidelines of Marshall Athletics events; and creating cinematic videos, hype content, and storytelling pieces for Thundering Herd programs. Students will contribute to projects used across official Marshall Athletics platforms and will support events, practices, and key departmental initiatives. Personal photography/video equipment is required for on-field and on-court shooting.
