Catherine Peeler
Catherine Peeler was born and raised in Huntington, WV, graduated from Huntington High School (Class of 1974) and Marshall University (Class of 1978). While at Marshall, she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority all four years and held the position of Treasurer while there.
After graduating from Marshall University, Peeler was employed by Somerville & Company for five years before moving to Atlanta to work for Smith & Howard, CPAs and Advisors, for five years. With ten years of experience in Public Accounting, she decided to open her own practice, Owens Peeler, beginning in May, 1990. However, after thirty-two years, she decided to retire and pursue other interests, including spending more time with family and attending Marshall events.
Catherine’s husband, David, has become, as he likes to say, "Marshall by Marriage', and has attended Marshall sporting events with her all over the country for over 32 years. David is retired now, but his employer of over forty years moved them several times to five different states, some of which were very far from Huntington. However, the Peelers are very blessed to have been able to follow The Herd no matter where they have lived.
The Peelers reside in Hattiesburg, MS and have a son, Drew, who is a lawyer in Tampa, FL.
