Dylan Genung was hired as the Director of Olympic Sports Performance in 2024.
Genung previously oversaw the strength and conditioning program at Morehead State University that assisted in leading men’s basketball to two NCAA appearances in 2020-21 and 2023-24. four straight 20-win seasons, including a program record 26 victories in 2023-24, and an NIT win over Clemson in 2022-23. Genung helped guide several players to all-conference honors, including Mark Freeman’s OVC Player of the Year award in 2022-23, Riley Minix’s OVC Player of the Year honor in 2023-24, Auburn standout Johni Broome taking home OVC Defensive Player of the Year accolades in 2021-22, as well as OVC Defensive Player of the Year Alex Gross in 2022-23.
Genung also helped the 2021 volleyball team to an OVC Regular Season and Tournament Championships as the Eagles went on to win their first ever NCAA tournament match.
Prior to joining Morehead State, Genung served various roles at Marshall and Kentucky Christian, as well as owning and operating his own training facility, Lifted Sports Performance. With a Masters Degree in exercise science and 10+ years of strength and conditioning experience, he continuously strives to improve his athletes, as well as his own knowledge within the coaching field.
He resides in Olive Hill, Ky., with his wife MaKaylen, and four children, Nia, Teagan, Theo & Josie.
