Stepped up for Marshall during junior campaign...went 10-5 on the year with a 2.55 ERA...eight starts during season...made 26 relief appearances...first career win came against College of Charleston February 9 going five inning giving up two hits and no earned runs with seven strikeouts...in eight starts had four complete games with two shutouts...first career shutout came at Southern Miss April 19 going seven innings with six strikeouts...had 95 strikeouts to lead the team...pitched a one-hitter against Georgetown...pitched two innings in a combined game shutout with Jackson against UTEP March 21.
2007 (Sophomore):
Made first career start against Charlotte, Feb. 24...gave up two earned runs in 6.1 innings and picked up the 2-1 lost...pitched eight total innings on the year...made three different appearances and finished with a 1.75 ERA...surrendered 11 hits with two strikeouts...in the two ladder games MItchell saw action she allowed no runs with two hits in an inning and a third.
2006 (Freshman):
Made one relief appearance as a freshman against Connecticut March 3 at the Buzz Classic...Struck out two batters in two-thirds of an inning...Also saw action as a pinch runner at East Carolina April 2.
High School:
Was a three-year letterwinner for head coach Johnny Pachuta at Shady Spring HS...Led team to 2003 and 2005 Class AA West Virginia state championships...Was a second team All-State selection as an infielder in 2004 and a first team All-State selection as a pitcher in 2005...Also lettered in volleyball and basketball...Led volleyball team to 2002 and 2003 Class AA WV state championships...Was a first team All-State volleyball pick in 2002, a second-team pick in 2003 and an honorable mention honoree in 2004...Was a three-time All-State honorable mention selection in basketball (2003-05).
