Allison Rager has been named the Pitching Coach for Marshall softball, as announced by Head Coach Morgan Zerkle.

"Successful teams have great people, and Allison is a fantastic person," Zerkle said. "She is a West Virginia native who is hungry to recruit hard working players to our Herd family. She is determined and passionate about building relationships, and I'm thrilled to have her in our bullpen developing pitchers."

Rager, a 2015 graduate of Herbert Hoover High School in West Virginia, has had several successful coaching stops, including most recently with Athletes Unlimited and Ole Miss. In Oxford, she earned her Masters of Science in Food and Nutrition Services while serving as a Graduate Assistant for two seasons with the Rebels.

Prior coaching stops included positions at West Virginia State University and her alma mater, Carson-Newman University, where she graduated in 2021 with her Masters of Business Administration.

"I am excited to get to work with a young staff full of energy, knowledge, and passion for the game," Rager said. "It's a privilege to be able to come back to West Virginia and coach college softball with someone I grew up playing against from 10u through college. I'm looking forward to bringing even more regional talent to the softball program here."

"After lots of prayer and consideration, I'm excited that this is where my path has led me, and I'm ready to get to work this fall. Go Herd!"

As a high school standout in the state of West Virginia, Rager was a four-time All-State player for Herbert Hoover, being named the 2014 State Player of the Year by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.

Following her high school career, Rager pitched three seasons at Morehead State University, being selected to the All-OVC Newcomer Team as a freshman, and earning First Team All-OVC as a sophomore. After three seasons with the Eagles, Rager transferred to Carson-Newman, where she earned NFCA Second Team All-Region honors prior to graduating with a B.A. in Business Administration.
