2022 Conference USA Academic Medalist: GPA 3.75 or better
2022 Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll: GPA 3.00 or better
2020-21 (Sophomore): Set a pair of personal records at the end of the season in the hammer and discus at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships, both of which earned her an 8th place finish … her hammer mark of 172 ft. 3 in. and her discus PR of 146 ft. 9 in. are both the 5th best in school history … earned six top-five finishes throughout the season … set a personal best in the weight throw at the Marshall Invitational (49 ft. 9 in.) … named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and awarded the C-USA Academic Medal for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.
2019-20 (Freshman): Competed in every meet during the shortened season for the Thundering Herd, predominately in the weight throw and shot put … set season-bests in the shot and weight at the Marshall Invitational, where in the shot she finished 7th (11.57m/37 ft. 11.5 in.) and 8th in the weight (14.25m/46 ft. 9 in.) … named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and awarded the C-USA Academic Medal for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better … Outdoor season canceled due to Covid-19.
Prior to Marshall: As a senior at Scott, Burns was the Double A state champion in the state of West Virginia in the Discus as well as the All-Class Champion in the Discus ... She also finished runner up in shot put her senior year … she also is a Yeager Scholar, the highest academic scholarship available at Marshall.
