    Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

Marshall Women's Soccer coach Rafa Simoes has hired Julia Passero as an Assistant Coach for the program. The native of Sao Paulo, Brazil joined the Herd Sept. 2024 after holding the position as Head Coach of the U20 Women’s Soccer team at Santos FC in Brazil. 

Prior to her head coaching experience with Santos, Passero was the U16, U17, and U20 Head Coach with Ferroviaria women’s soccer from 2021-23. There, she was a two-time State Champion for the U20 team in 2022 and 2023. Her teams have also won the Brazilian Cup, the Super Cup, and the Libertadores U16. 

Passero received her Bachelor in Sports Science degree from FCA/UNICAMP with a Master’s Degree in Physical Education from FEF/UNICAMP and Post-Graduate at Ensino e Treinamento de Futsal. She has her Soccer License C and B from CBF Academy

“I am very glad and thankful for the amazing opportunity to come and be a soccer coach at Marshall,” Passero said. “It’s a big challenge in my career moving from Brazil. I hope I can bring my experiences to add to the players, the staff and the program. I am very excited for what we can achieve, working hard as a group to elevate this program to the highest potential level!”

Other coaching experience for Passero includes leading as an assistant coach and high performance analyst for the Futsal Feminino Taboão Magnus from 2020-2021. She has coached in the United States with U10 and U12 Euro FC as well as the role of Head Coach for Futsal Minnesota.
