2012:Named to the C-USA Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll... Recipient of the C-USA Academic Medal.
Prior to Marshall: Compiled a 30-6 overall record in two years of high school tennis... Was a regional semifinalist in singles and doubles in those two years... Played Volleyball for MU in the fall... Was named the West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year in 2009... First-Team All-State in volleyball and was the 2008 and 2009 Mountain State Athletic Conference Player of the Year... Was also All-State in softball in 2010 and was the starting centerfielder on Ripley[apos]s 2009 AAA State Championship team.
Personal: Daughter of David Kessel and Carrie Newton... Has an older sister, Lindsay... Majoring in English Literature.
