Marshall Vice President and Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison hired Tyler Ferris as Associate Athletic Director for Major Gifts for the Big Green Scholarship Foundation in January 2026.
Ferris returns to his alma mater after having spent the last two years at UNC-Asheville where he was the Assistant Athletic Director for Advancement.
Ferris is a familiar face among Marshall Athletics and the Big Green Scholarship Foundation – an aspect that will be pivotal as he rekindles relationships with Big Green donors and makes more connections for the Marshall community.
Prior to his time at UNC Asheville, Ferris worked as the Assistant Director of Development for the Big Green Scholarship Foundation, assisting in all facets of development from the time of his hire in 2020.
During his time at Marshall, Ferris helped the Big Green’s annual scholarship fund surpass the $2 million milestone for the first time. He also was a central figure in Marshall’s first-ever craft beer partnership with Country Boy Brewing.
Ferris graduated from Marshall in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Print Journalism and a minor in Marketing. He is a graduate of Winfield High School.
