Miami Rolls Past Herd In Last Home Match of Season

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University volleyball team fell to Miami University Saturday night in the Herd?s last home match of the season. The Redhawks (12-11, 9-7 MAC) swept the Herd (6-19, 4-12 MAC) in three matches, 30-18, 30-24, 30-23.
?I thought we got outplayed by a very determined Miami team tonight,? said head coach Steffi Legall. ?With their serves they took us right out of our offense. We just couldn?t get our passes right.?
Jodi Fick paced Marshall with seven kills, 2 service aces and 11 defensive digs. Also helping the Herd was Heidi Kuethe (junior/Normal, Ill.) with seven kills and 7 defensive digs. Grace Jones (junior/Lakeland, Fl.) ended the evening with 5 kills, 2 block solos and 2 defensive digs.
Before the match Marshall honored Kristin Bailey (senior/Indianapolis, Ind.) the only senior on this year?s young team. Bailey had 3 kills, 16 set assists and 4 defensive digs.
The Herd will travel to Athens, Ohio, Tuesday, Nov. 13 to take on the Bobcats.
