Thundering Herd Ticket Caravan Schedule Set

5/24/2001

Huntington, W.Va. - Marshall University football coach Bob Pruett, numerous Thundering Herd players and the rest of the 2001 Marshall University Football Ticket Caravan will make six stops over the next two months throughout the Tri-State area.

"We have set a season ticket goal of 15,500 for this year," said Lance West, Director of Athletics. "Theses six stops will help s reach that goal. This also is a great opportunity for all those with the Marshall Athletic Department to meet with all the great fans that show their support throughout the year."

The purpose of this ticket caravan, which is in its fourth year, is to bring Marshall football to fans in various areas of West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. Fans will not only be able to meet with Coach Pruett and other star players, but will be able to purchase tickets to all five home games. A diagram of Marshall University Stadium will be on-hand to assist each and every Herd fan. The caravan will also feature schedule cards, posters and prizes to be won.

Marshall returns perhaps its most talented team for the 2001 season as they go for an unprecedented fifth consecutive Mid-American Conference title. Many early pre-season articles are already touting junior Byron Leftwich as the top returning quarterback in college football, and senior linebacker Max Yates was recently named to the Lombardi watch list.

Now is the time for Herd fans to make sure they have their tickets so they don't miss a single minute of the spine-tingling action from Marshall University Stadium. The Herd will play five exciting games at home this year as they go for "One For The Thumb In 2001!"
