Men's Soccer to Face High Point University
9/4/2001
HUNTINGTON-WV-The Marshall University men?s soccer team (1-0-0) looks to extend their home-unbeaten streak to 12 when they take on High Point University (0-0-0) Wednesday, September 5, at 4:00 p.m. at Sam Hood Field.
?High Point is a solid team and will be a good test for our guys,? head coach Bob Gray said. ?We beat them last year and they will be looking for revenge. Hopefully, we can minimize the mistakes we made during our last match and we can continue to improve.?
The last home loss for the Herd came on October 15, 1999, when they fell to Bowling Green University 2-1 in double overtime.
In Marshall?s 3-2 win over Cleveland State University last Friday, Byron Carmichael (Lumberton, NJ), Brent Sobczak (Brandon, FL) and Jared Dombrowski (Pickerington, OH) each scored goals for the Thundering Herd.
Admission to the match is $5 for adults and $3 for children. A Go Herd card can be purchased at the game for $40 for adults and $25 for children. Cardholders receive admission to all home events except football and men?s and women?s basketball.
