CINCINNATI, Ohio - Marshall University?s men?s golf team shot a third round score of 291 to finish the two-day Xavier/Provident Intercollegiate in 13th position with a total score of 885.
?We played two pretty solid rounds the last two rounds, we just dug ourselves a whole with the 307 in the first round,? head coach Joe Feaganes said. ?The last two rounds were probably our best of the Fall.?
Marshall, which shot rounds 307, 287, and 291, managed its best showing of the Fall in the even. Derek Hurwitch led the way for Marshall with rounds of 76, 70, and 73. Hurwitch finished six-over at 219 (tied for 26th place).
Wright State University won the team title with a score of 853. The Raiders edged an Eastern Michigan that posted an 855. Wright State?s Jesse Hutchins took medalist honors with a superb 12-under 201 (rounds of 68-69-64).
