Men's Soccer to Face Defending MAC Champion Kentucky

Huntington, W.Va.-The Marshall University men?s soccer team will travel to Lexington, Ky., on Friday, October 18, to take on defending Mid-American Conference champion Kentucky at 5:00 p.m. Marshall enters the contest with a record of 5-7-0, 1-1-0 in conference while Kentucky enters the match with a record of 7-5-0, 0-0-0 in conference.

Marshall comes into the match after a close 2-1 loss at the hands of Virginia Tech. Marshall forward Byron Carmichael needs only two points to break the MAC career points record of 119 held by Steven Klein of Bowling Green.

Kentucky enters the contest after losing to second ranked Indiana 2-1 on Wednesday, October 16. Marshall will be the Wildcats first conference opponent this season.

Marshall leads the all-time series with Kentucky 10-6-1, however, the Wildcats have won four of the last five meetings.

After the match with Kentucky, Marshall will continue conference play with a trip to Bowling Green, Ohio, to face Bowling Green at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 19.
