MAC Men's Soccer Tournament Set to Kick-Off

Huntington, W.Va.-The Mid-American Conference Men?s Soccer Tournament will kick-off Friday, November 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Sam Hood Field when the second-seeded University of Akron faces seventh-seeded Western Michigan University in quarterfinal action. In the second game, the University at Buffalo, the fourth seed, will take on the defending MAC tournament champion University of Kentucky at 4:30 p.m. In the night cap, third-seeded Marshall University will face Northern Illinois University.
?It is a tremendous opportunity for our program to host the tournament,? head coach Bob Gray said. ?Hopefully, with the home-field advantage, we will be able to advance to the conference finals after the end of the weekend.?
When Marshall faced Northern Illinois earlier this season, the Thundering Herd rallied from a 5-2 deficit with 20 minutes remaining to win 6-5. Marshall has won the last two series meetings.
The semifinals of the MAC Tournament will take place at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, at Sam Hood Field.
Tickets to the event can be purchased at the Marshall University ticket office or at Sam Hood Field on the days of the games. Admission for each day is ten dollars for adults and five dollars for students and children.
