Softball Falls to Undefeated Georgia

Athens, Ga.-Marshall?s softball team (3-8) squared off against the host University of Georgia in their final game of the Bulldog Classic. The Thundering Herd fell to an undefeated and #23 ranked Gerogia squad 12-0.
Georgia (20-0) struck early scoring three runs in the first ining including a two-run homer by Michelle Tyree. The Bulldogs kept it up in the second adding six more runs and then three more in the fourth.
Sophomore Sarah Chamberlain (Moses Lake, Wash.) fell to 1-3 on the mound with the loss.
The Thundering Herd returns to action next weekend as they travel to Chattanooga, Tenn. to compete in the Frost Invitational Tournament. Marshall will take on the University of Illinois at 12:15 pm on March 1st to kick off the tournament.
