Golf Team Prepares for First Spring Tournament

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. ? The Marshall University golf team will travel to Ocala, Fla. this weekend to compete in the Big Red Classic, that will be held March 9-10.
Indiana University, in conjunction with Ball State University, will host the 2002 Big Red Classic held at the Lake Diamond Golf & Country Club. The 54-hole tournament will feature a field of 16 teams.
The Big Red Classic field includes Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Evansville, IUPUI, Indiana, James Madison, Lamar, Marshall, Methodist, Michigan State, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Penn State, Richmond and Xavier.
The lineup for The Herd will be Burke Spensky (junior/Huntington, W.Va.), Aaron Williams (senior/New Boston, Ohio), Brian Perry (senior/New Smrna Beach, Fla.), Ryan Stewart (sophomore/Barboursville, W.Va.), Drew Whitten (freshman, Hurricane, W.Va.) and Steve Sisson (senior/Huntington, W.Va.).
?We are very excited about our upcoming spring season,? said head coach Joe Feaganes. ?We ended the fall on a high note and I am very excited to see how the spring goes.?
Next weekend the golf team will travel to Citrus Springs, Fla. to compete in The El Diablo Intercollegiate.
