Women's Golf Signs Jodie Switzer

Huntington, W.Va.--Marshall University Director of Golf Joe Feaganes has announced that Jodie Switzer has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Herd?s women?s golf program.
Switzer comes to Marshall from Collingwood, Ontario, where she was named Female Athlete of the Year at Collingwood Collegiate Institute. She placed 27th in the 2001 Ontario Ladies Golf Championship and third in the Ontario Junior Masters in 2002. The Ontario Can Am Challenge/College Prospects Tournament Champion also quailified for the All-Canadian Junior Championship. Switzer was the 2002 Junior Ladies Club Champion at the Blue Mountain Golf and Country Club and has won several Georgian Bay Area Junior Tournaments throughout her career.
The daughter of Bill and Judy Switzer will enter Marshall as a freshman in the fall of 2002.
Marshall women?s golf begins play this fall and is still looking for a couple of players to fill out the roster. Any current Marshall student or incoming freshman interested should contact head coach Joe Feaganes (696-5401) or assistant coach Meredith Knight (696-3330).
