Women's Soccer Opens Home Conference Slate

Lindsey Stelter is looking to help boost the Herd past WMU on Friday.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. ? The Marshall University women?s soccer team will host the Broncos of Western Michigan University on Friday, September 20th. The match will take place at Sam Hood Field on the campus of Marshall University at 1:00 p.m.

Marshall is currently 2-2-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the Mid-American Conference. The Herd is looking for its first MAC win after taking the University of Akron to a thrilling 1-1 tie.

Western Michigan returns to action after a 5-0 blowout at home Sunday against the University at Buffalo. The Broncos are led by senior forward Kersten Conklin, who has four goals in six matches, and freshman forward/midfielder Andrea Tyler?s three assists.
The Herd is led by Freshman Ashley Schilling?s two gals and one assist in five games.

This will be the fifth meeting between the two schools. The series is even with each school winning once and tying twice. Last season, Marshall took its only match against Western Michigan with a 2-0 victory.

Marshall returns to action Sunday at 1 p.m. to take on MAC foe Northern Illinois at Sam Hood Field.
