Men's Soccer Contest against Akron Postponed Due to Weather

9/26/2002

Huntington, W.Va.-Due to weather, the Marshall University men?s soccer conference opener against the University of Akron scheduled for Friday, September 27, at 7:00 p.m. has been postponed. As of now, no makeup date has been set.

The postponement means Marshall?s next match will be against Western Michigan University on Sunday, September 29, at noon in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Marshall leads the all-time series with WMU 5-0-1, including two wins last season.

Marshall is coming off two losses at the Traditional Bank Classic in Lexington, Ky., after a three-game winning streak. For their performances at the tournament, Marshall?s Byron Carmichael and Clayton Cochrane were named to the all-tournament team.

The next home match for the Thundering Herd will be Sunday, October 6, at 1:00 p.m. when they face the University at Buffalo.
