Men's Golf Team Opens Fall Season at Pinehurst

Marshall University?s men?s golf team opens the fall portion of its schedule Monday at the Mid-Pines Intercollegiate in Pinehurst, N.C.
The 54-hole tournament, that features 15 schools, is hosted by the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and will run through Tuesday. The competing teams are Ball State, UNC-Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Davidson, East Carolina, Furman, Louisville, Marshall, Michigan, Old Dominion, Central Florida, UNC-Greensboro, Virginia Commonwealth, Wichita State, and Wofford.
Marshall is expected to be led by senior Burke Spensky. The Huntington native advanced to the final 16 of the U.S. Public Links tournament this summer and is the team?s leading returning stroke leader. Joining Spensky on the travel squad are Drew Whitten, Ryan Stewart, Brad Tweel and Derek Hurwitch.
