Women's Tennis Set to Face Virginia and Kentucky

Huntington, W.Va.-Marshall University?s women?s tennis team will be the host to a pair of nationally ranked foes this weekend as they take on the University of Virginia at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, and the University of Kentucky on Saturday, January 25, at 5:00 p.m. Both matches will take place at the Huntington Tennis Club.
Virginia enters their match with the Thundering Herd as the 54th ranked team in the country. The Cavaliers enter the contest with a 1-1 record after starting the season with a loss to 8th ranked Vanderbilt before a victory over Middle Tennessee State.
The 14th ranked Kentucky Wildcats enter their first matches of the 2003 season. Kentucky will face Virginia at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, before their match with the Thundering Herd.
Marshall enters the weekend matches with a record of 2-1. The Thundering Herd opened with victories over Pittsburgh and Wright State before falling to William & Mary.
Admission to the weekend tilts is free.
