Football Travels to Buffalo Saturday

10/13/2003

Marshall, coming off of a 49-33 win over Kent State, travels to Buffalo, N.Y., Saturday for a MAC East contest with Buffalo that will be Bob Pruett?s 100th game as head coach of the Thundering Herd.

The game will be televised via the ISP/Thundering Herd Network (WSAZ-TV in Huntington-Charleston, W.Va.), with Keith Morehouse, Sonny Randle, and John Gregory. The coordinates for the ESPN+ production are Galaxy 11, Transponder 16 on the KU Band.

The Thundering Herd (3-3, 1-1 MAC) will be looking to extend a six-game winning streak against the Bulls and move above the .500 mark for the season. Marshall has won every meeting in the series since Buffalo started play as a member of the MAC in 1999, and has won those games by an average of 38 and a half points. Last season in Huntington, MU recorded a 66-21 win over the Bulls. Buffalo?s lone win over Marshall came in 1959 (37-12 at UB).

Buffalo (0-7 overall, 0-3 MAC) is in the midst of a 17-game losing streak and is coming off of a 59-3 loss at Miami. The Bulls are averaging only 10.4 points per game, while their opponents are posting a 38.9 points per game average.

UB features last year?s MAC Freshman of the Year in sophomore running back Aaron Leeper. He has rushed for 319 yards and two touchdowns, and has 16 catches for 62 yards this season. He is joined in the Bulls backfield by fellow sophomore Dave Dawson who leads the team with 424 rushing yards.
