Women's Soccer Earns National Academic Award

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. ? The Marshall Women?s Soccer team was named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Women?s Collegiate Team Academic Award winner for 2002-03, announced Friday, Nov. 14 by the NSCAA.
The Herd, led by first year head coach Chris Kane, sported a 3.32 grade point average and is one of 113 Division I women's programs recognized.
?We are excited about this award,? Kane said. ?Academics are vital to the success of the complete student athlete.?
A total of 335 intercollegiate soccer programs (71 men, 264 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2002-03 school year.
