Jamus Martin Named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Marshall University defensive end Jamus Martin has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week for his performance against UCF last Wednesday.
Martin, a junior from Martinsville, Va., helped the Thundering Herd to a 21-7 win at UCF with three tackles for a total loss of 18 yards, two of those tackles were quarterback sacks. Martin finished the night with eight total tackles as the Thundering Herd defense limited the Golden Knights to only six first downs.
Joshua Cribbs of Kent State took MAC East Offensive Player of the Week honors after tallying 372 yards of total offense in a 34-24 win over Buffalo, and Ryne Robinson of Miami took special teams honors with three punt returns for 130 yards and a touchdown in a 49-31 win at Ohio.
The MAC West Players of the Week were Michael Turner of Northern Illinois, Michael Broussard of Toledo, and Steve Azar of Northern Illinois.
