GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Marshall University fired a 307 in the final round of the Furman Intercollegiate Sunday to finish 15th in the 22-team event with a score of 915 (+51).
The Thundering Herd's Ben Minyard recorded a 75 in the third round to finish the tournament in 26th place at 222 (+6). Marshall's Brad Tweel finished with a 227 (+11) and tied for 46th.
The Hokies of Virginia Tech became the first team to ever win three consecutive Furman Intercollegiate Titles, firing a final-round 290 (869 overall) to top the Paladins by four strokes.
Virginia Tech's Chris McKeel won medalist honors with a five-under par 211. He recorded rounds of 67, 70, and 74 on the par 72, 6,800-yard Furman Golf Course.
