Women's Tennis Completes Perfect Weekend, Defeats Buffalo 7-0

Huntington, W.Va.-The Marshall University women's tennis team swept all seven points in a 7-0 victory over the University at Buffalo in action at the Huntington Tennis Club. The conference victory moves MU's record to 8-6 overall and a perfect 3-0 in conference.

Marshall began the day by defeating all three Bulls doubles team to capture the doubles point. Jessica Johnson and Danielle Hock combined at the number one doubles position to beat the UB team 8-2. Ashley Kroh and Lille Nzudie blanked Michaela Kollarova 8-0 while the tandem of Joelle Good and Holly Asel won in the number three position 8-3.

The Thundering Herd also swept the singles matches, winning every set along the way. The most impressive Thundering Herd victory came in the number four position as Holly Asel cruised past Erica Zielinski for her first conference victory of her career 6-0, 6-0. Asel was a perfect 4-0 on the weekend against Akron and Buffalo.

Marshall will return to action on Tuesday, April 1, when they take on Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Va.
