HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- The Marshall University softball team will host the Radisson Softball Classic Friday, Saturday and Sunday on Dot Hicks Field on the campus of Marshall University.
Cleveland State University, the University of Dayton and Morehead State University will make the trip to Huntington to compete in the round robin tournament. Action will kick off at 2:00 p.m. Friday as the Herd takes on Morehead State.
Marshall makes its home debut with a 9-5 overall record and is sporting its best start ever under head coach Shonda Stanton. Freshman Amanda Williams (Powder Springs, Ga.) is leading the team offensively with a .429 average. She is followed closely by several teammates, five of whom are hitting over .300. With a 1.89 ERA in 37.0 innings, sophomore Randi Nielson (Tucson, Ariz.) has collected five of the Herd?s nine wins on the mound.
The tournament will consist of 12 contests in the three days of competition. Marshall will play six games over the weekend. Admission to all contests is free. A complete schedule is listed below.
