Women's Golf Eighth After Day Two of MAC Championships

HAMILTON, Ohio - Marshall's women's golf team fired a 359 Saturday to remain in eighth place heading into the final round of the Mid-American Conference Championships.

Marshall's two-day total of 687 gives the Thundering Herd a seven stroke advantage over last place Northern Illinois heading into Sunday's final round.

The Herd is being paced by Sheena Caron. The freshman from Bolt, W.Va, is currently tied for 26th overall at 163 after shooting an 86 in Saturday's second round.

Kent State is on course to win the championship thanks to a commanding 38-stroke lead over second place Toleo. The Flashes have a two-day total of 586 and boast the tournament's top three individuals in Veronique Drouin (145), Martina Gillen (146), and Gabby Wedding (147).

Sunday's final round is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.
