Shawndra Thompson Added As Volleyball Graduate Assistant

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.--Shawndra Thompson, a former player at Ashland University, has been named to the volleyball graduate assistant coach position with the Thundering Herd.

Thompson was a four-year starter with the Eagles from 1999-2002, where she excelled both on and off the floor. She is 8th all-time in the Ashland record books for digs and kills, and was a member of the GLIAC All-Academic Team from 2000 to 2002. She also made the dean's list every semester.

Her duties at Marshall will include the day-to-day maintenence of the volleyball office, on-the-floor instruction at practices and games, and the organization of Marshall's summer camps.

Thompson was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, and the Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society while at Ashland, and is currently a member of the AVCA.
