Mickey Mouse is not the only thing magical coming from Orlando, Fla.

Bernard Morris, a 6-foot-4, 197-pound freshman quarterback from Jones High School in Orlando, stepped into unfamiliar waters when he showed up in Huntington nearly two weeks ago.

But he?s getting used to his new environment.

?I am getting adjusted alright,? Morris said. ?Everyone is real cool.?

And he is also getting rave reviews from those around him as well.

Coach Bob Pruett has been impressed early on.

?He is looking good out there,? Pruett said. ?He has a chance to be a big time player.?

Fellow quarterback Stan Hill can see a little of old number seven in the young signal caller.

?That kid has a strong arm,? Hill said. ?He reminds me of Byron?he seems to always remain cool under the gun.

That is a huge plus for a quarterback in our offense.?

So why did Morris pick the green and white when he grew up in University of Central Florida territory?

?Pretty much everyone I know wanted me to go to UCF,? Morris said. ?But they wanted me as a receiver.

?I came here because I had one of the best schools in the country at recruiting quarterbacks knocking on my door.?

He is looking forward to making the trip back home on November 19.

?All my friends and family will be there,? Morris said. ?We actually played our home games in high school on UCF?s home field.

It is going to bring back a lot of memories.?

Pruett said after Monday?s practice that the Herd?s injury list is ?a whole lot smaller.?

?We have some bumps and bruises,? Pruett said. ?Just can?t wait for the season to get ready to go.?
