Huntington, W.Va.- The Marshall Thundering Herd football team battled through a scorching evening practice Thursday.
?The guys really battled through the heat today,? head coach Bob Pruett said . ?I believe that we pushed hard in today?s practice and showed improvement.?
Junior defensive back Roberto Terrell is looking forward to making an impact this season on a Marshall defense that was solid against the pass last season.
?The defense this season is going to be pretty good,? Terrell said. ?We are hoping to pick up from where we left off last season, and go out and set the tempo in every game.?
?I see my role in the secondary as a leader,? Terrell said. ?I tried to take the experiences and lessons that Yancy Saterwhite, Chris Crocker, and Tarence Tarpley taught me, and show them to the younger guys, I want them to see what it takes.?
Pruett speaks highly of the junior?s progress in camp.
?Roberto walked on to our program and has developed into a starter for us,? coach Pruett said about his solid defensive back. ?He is a leader and definitely a guy we need on this football team.?
Marshall is scheduled to go through its final two-a-day practices Friday. The first of the two practices starts at 8:00 am and the second is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
