Men's Soccer Prepares for Season Opener

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Thundering Herd men's soccer team will open up the regular season on Monday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m. versus St. Peter's College at Sam Hood Field.
Marshall is returning five starters from the 2002 squad and has recruited many newcomers who look to keep the team at its high level of play.
The schedule is highlighted by big Mid-American Conference home games against Kentucky, Bowling Green and Western Michigan. The Herd will also participate in the Birmingham Southern Tournament and the William & Mary Tournament in upcoming weeks.
Marshall will wrap up the regular season versus West Virginia University on Nov. 2 in Charleston, W.Va.
The MAC tournament will take place from November 7-9 and will be hosted by Bowling Green. Last season, the Herd lost to Akron in the conference semifinals of the postseason tournament.
