ATHENS, OH -- Marshall deleted the zero from the goal column but came up short against Ohio University, 4-1, Sunday.

Senior Sarah Gupton (Richmond, IN) netted the first goal of the season for the Herd, breaking a seven-game scoreless streak.

Danielle Lowther, a senior from Grand Haven, MI got the assist.

Ohio freshman Tiffany Horvath recorded her third multiple-goal game of the season for the Bobcat effort.

Herd goalies sophomore Jen Short and redshirt freshman Kai Nordness combined for three saves on the day.

Ohio outshot Marshall 21-8 for the match.

The loss drops the Herd to 0-7-1 (0-3), while Ohio sits at 4-4 (2-1).

Womens Soccer returns to action on Sept. 26 when they hit the road for a game against Northern Illinois.
