Marshall Men Finish 14th At Northern Intercollegiate

ANN ARBOR, Mich.--The Marshall men's golf team finished the Northern Intercollegiate golf tournament in 14th place. The event was hosted by the University of Michigan.

Burke Spensky (Huntington, W.Va.) and Drew Whitten (Hurricane, W.Va.) led the Marshall contingent with a three-round total of 225 (+12), putting them tied for 38th in the tournament.

Shawn Warren (Windham, Maine) finished with a three round total of 227 (T-52nd, +14), Brad Tweel (Huntington, W.Va.) finished with a 228 (T-56th, +15), despite having shot a first-round 73, while Ryan Stewart (Barboursville, W.Va.) finished with a 234 (T-80th, +21) in three rounds of play.

Marshall's total team score was 897.

Xavier University took home the Northern Intercollegiate Championship with a team total of 853.

Indiana's Jeff Overton won the individual title with a three round score of 207 (-6).

Marshall's next tournament is the Adams Cup, hosted by the University of Rhode Island, next weekend.
