Penn State and Princeton Next for Herd Tennis

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University women?s tennis team travels to State College, Pa., this weekend, where they will compete against Penn State University and Princeton University.

The Herd will open the weekend against Penn State, Friday, Feb. 20 at 4 p.m., and on Saturday, Feb. 21, the team will take on Princeton at 1 p.m. The matches will be played at the Penn State Tennis Center.

Marshall is coming off a 2-0 weekend, where they defeated Southern Methodist University and swept Louisville 7-0. Marshall goes into this weekend with a 2-2 record overall. The team is currently ranked No. 72 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association national poll. In singles, senior Jessica Johnson (Sewickly, Pa.) is No. 62 and in doubles Johnson and junior Ashley Kroh (Louisville, Ky.) are No. 14.

Penn State has a 2-4 record, losing to three ranked teams. They lost to No. 45 Pennsylvania University, No. 64 Yale University and No. 58 Wake Forest University.

Princeton has a 1-1 record, losing to No. 33 University of Virginia and taking a win over Seton Hall.
