CLEVELAND, Ohio- Marshall University women?s tennis player senior Jessica Johnson (Sewickly, Pa.) has been named Mid-American Conference women?s tennis player of the week by the conference office for her performance against No. 31 ranked Virginia this past weekend.
Johnson scored a win at the No.1 singles and No.1 doubles positions in Marshall?s competition against No. 31 ranked Virginia this past weekend. Johnson topped 74th ranked Mariko-Fritz Krockow in singles 6-2, 6-3, and then teamed up with teammate junior Ashley Kroh (Louisville, Ky.) for an 8-5 victory over No.38 ranked Fritz- Krockow and Lauren Brunch.
Johnson and the rest of the Marshall women?s tennis team will return to action on Saturday when the Thundering Herd travel to Louisville, Ky. to take on Southern Methodist University, February 14th and then the Herd will match up against the University of Louisville on the 15th.
