Volleyball Non-Conference Schedule Announced

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. ? Marshall head coach Mitch Jacobs announced today the 2004 non-conference schedule for the Thundering Herd volleyball team.
Marshall, Mid-American Conference Tournament championship finalists last season, will open the 2004 campaign at the Cam Henderson Center versus the Big South?s Radford Highlanders on Sept. 1. Three road tournaments dot the early portion of the schedule with trips to Wake Forest, Morehead State and Wisconsin for tourney action in three consecutive weekends. WFU will host the Herd, the SEC?s South Carolina and Connecticut out of the Big East. The Big 10?s Badgers will be joined by Marshall, Conference USA?s Cincinnati and the ACC?s Virginia at the UW tournament on Sept. 17-18. The MSU Invitational is still preparing its field of teams.
Marshall will make a day trip to Richmond, Ky., to face Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 7.
The Xavier Musketeers will visit the Herd on Sept. 22 before MAC play commences later in the week. The annual battle with intra-state rival West Virginia returns to Huntington for an Oct. 5 match with the Mountaineers.
