Herd Tennis Closes Out Regular Season This Weekend

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. ? The Marshall University women?s tennis team will clash with the Western Michigan Broncos, in a battle of Mid-American Conference unbeatens on Friday, and then take on the Northern Illinois Huskies, Saturday (Senior Day), at the Marshall University Tennis Courts. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
The Herd and the Broncos both go into Friday?s match with perfect 7-0 records.
The Broncos enter the match with a 14-7 overall record and a 7-0 MAC mark. Western Michigan took a 5-2 win over Eastern Michigan in its last time out, marking their ninth consecutive win.
Northern Illinois enters Saturday?s competition 8-7 overall and 4-3 in the MAC. The Huskies defeated Toledo, 6-1, in their last outing.
The Herd is now 17-4 overall and 7-0 in the MAC. MU?s doubles team of senior Jessica Johnson (Sewickly, Pa.) and junior Ashley Kroh (Louisville, Ky.) is ranked 28th and the team is ranked 51st in the nation.
