Tennis Advances At MAC Championships

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The women's tennis team cruised to a MAC Quarterfinal victory this morning over the Toledo Rockets, 4-0. The Herd advance to meet the winner of the Miami/Ball State match, which gets underway at 2 p.m. CST.
Marshall claimed the doubles point after the Herd's number one team of Jessica Johnson (Sewickly, Pa.) and Ashley Kroh (Louisville, Ky.) handled Toledo's #1 team of Monica Ribero and Jen Meister, 8-2, and the Herd's #3 team of Danielle Hock (Wiggin, England) and Meghan Skalsky (East Lansing, Mich.) defeated Daniella Moran and Claire Smalley of Toledo, 8-0.
The three singles winners were at the #4, #5, and #6 positions. Lille Nzudie (Douala, Cameroon) took out Daniella Moran, 6-0, 6-0, at the number four spot, Joelle Good (Zurich, Switzerland) knocked off Jen Meister, 6-0, 6-0, at number five, while Meghan Skalsky (East Lansing, Mich.) defeated Claire Smalley, 6-0, 6-0, to clinch the match.
Marshall was also leading the other three singles matches when the match was called.
