Marshall Volleyball to Host Green and White Scrimmage

Huntington, W.Va. - The 2004 Marshall volleyball season doesn't officially get underway until Wednesday, Sept. 1, but Herd fans can catch a sneak peak at the new version of the team this weekend in the Cam Henderson Center.
Marshall's squad will form two teams at 7 p.m., Saturday, and play its Green and White scrimmage as a final tuneup for the upcoming season.
Third-year head coach Mitch Jacobs encourages everyone to attend.
"It's a great opportunity for the students and all our fans to come out and get their first glimpse of the Herd," Jacobs said.
Four returnees and eight freshmen dot the Thundering Herd lineup in 2004. The four returnees are junior captains Katie Stein (Sussex, Wisc.), Amber Sims (Ney, Ohio) and Nickie Sanlin (Fairview Heights, Ill.) and sophomore Christin Bimberg (Schwerin, Germany).
The Herd?s eight newcomers joining the team are Maggie Arias (Indianapolis, Ind.); Stephanie Cahill (Louisville, Ky.); Chelsea Lazar (Palm Harbor, Fla.); Uche Ndubisi (Indianapolis, Ind.); Carlee Maddox (St. Joseph, Mich.); Jalicia Ross (Bank Village, Trinidad); Kelly-Anne Billingy (Trincity, Trinidad) and Jan Bierce (Wheeling, W.Va).
Marshall begins its regular season schedule Wednesday, Sept. 1, against Radford in the Cam Henderson Center at 7 p.m.
