HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University senior Johnathan Goddard added to his already extensive list of honors at the Thundering Herd's annual football banquet Saturday.

Senior running back Earl Charles was named the team's offensive most valuable player, while sophomore kicker/punter Ian O'Connor was selected as the special teams MVP.

Team captain awards were given to Earl Charles, Roberto Terrell, Kevin Atkins, Josh Davis, Johnathan Goddard, Nate Griffin, Stan Hill, and J.T. Rembert.

The Tom Stark Award for academic and athletic leadership went to junior tight end Jeff Mullins, while the 14th annual J.D. Coffman Award for scout team player of the year was shared by quarterback Jimmy Skinner and defensive lineman Blake Merritt.

Receiver Wilbur Hargrove was awarded a strength award for dedication in the weight room, while tight end Joe Deifel was honored with the Senior Scholar Athlete Award.
